Lesson 1: Introduction

               (40 mins) Importance of interpretation: with various interpretations: literal and symbolic (allegorical, metaphorical, parables). Examples of wrong interpretations. Mundane ones. Theological override.

               (10 mins) Few rules of interpretation

               (10 mins) Homework #1 (Prepare background. Read CH1 and answer the questions)

Lesson 2:

(10 mins) Look for the theme from 1:1-2

(15 mins) Review the questions

(15 mins) Making sermon outlines for 1:3-14 & 1:15 - 23 in groups (three persons in one group).

(15 mins) share outlines per group (5 mins)

HW: Read CH2 and answer the question

Lesson 3:

               (15 mins) Review the questions.

               (25 mins) share other insights or observations.

               (20 mins) make sermon outlines for 2:1-10 or 2:11 – 22 in groups

               HW: pick one from four passages and complete your sermon script ( of < 800 words) and turn it in online. Read CH3 and answer the questions

Lesson 4:

(15 mins) Review the questions.

               (20 mins) share other insights or observations

               (25 mins) review sermon scripts

               HW: Read CH4 & 5

Lesson 5:

(20 mins) Review the questions.

               (25 mins) share other insights or observations

               (15 mins) introduction to the sermon format. Decide order of preaching practice. (those not preaching need to turn in sermon script)

               HW: Sermon prep, read CH6

Lesson 6:

               (30 mins) Preaching 1 & critics

               (30 mins) preaching 2 & critics

Lesson 7:

               (30 mins) Preaching 3 & critics

               (30 mins) preaching 4 & critics

               (30 mins) Preaching 5 & critics

               (30 mins) preaching 6 & critics
